Spring is when the flowers bloom, daylight savings happens, and when you learn to Drive!

San Jose and the rest of the bay area except for San Francisco are suburbs. These are places that you can’t go anywhere without some kind of vehicle. When it is sunny, you might be able to walk a mile or two to get some groceries or pick up food and run errands on a bicycle. But what do you do when it rains?

During the spring, it’s not as cold as winter but it still does rain occasionally. This year in 2023, so far it has rained a pretty good amount. It even brought some snow to the nearby mountains that are visible all around the south bay. Lots of rain is good for some things, and not so good for other things such as driving.

Driving in the rain is dangerous but is necessary sometimes. Not everyone can work remote jobs, yet, so people will need to drive to work even when it is pouring rain everywhere. Drivers must exercise caution and maintain speeds that are safe to operate.

You don’t want to drive to close to any other cars in the rain because the road will be slick and stepping on the brakes is not as effective. The car can even slide and when the roads are slippery which will cause swerving.
